Goose Creek is one of my favorite lesser-known candle companies. They release collections every season and do collabs with things like Strawberry Shortcake and Candy Land. Granted they're online only so doing a sniff test to some of these is not a thing. Their prices are affordable, and the burn quality is smooth. The scent throw is definitely there to throw. Both their candles and wax melts are definitely worth their prices, they also run frequent sales.
I don't know why I stopped posting my hauls, especially my candle hauls but I really should start again.
I burned Canteen Hot Cocoa pretty much for all of December and it lasted me the majority of the month.
Prominent scent notes:
Milk Chocolate, Warm Fudge, Fluffy Marshmallows, Whipped Cream & Vanilla
Canteen Hot Cocoa definitely had a chocolate scent which was the main scent being thrown. I couldn't detect much of the marshmallows but the whipped cream or a creamy-ness was there. The scent was strong enough to fill the whole apartment despite the candle only being lit in the office.
For the price this is worth a shot. Not to mention how cute is this candle label. I might be a little biased because I'm a sucker for watercolor anything, but I just loved looking at this candle on my desk!
If you're into chocolate scented candles I'd suggest checking out some of their other scents. With Valentine's Day coming up I'm sure they'll be releasing a lot more of the same theme!
It's really no secret I'm a sucker for Bath & Body Works lemon scented candles so of course I had to pick up Sugared Lemonade just to see how it would stack up against other lemon scents.
Fresh Lemon Juice, Sugar Crystals and Crushed Ice.
Not sure what Crushed Ice is suppose to smell like. But nah didn't detect that one in this candle. The lemon wasn't as strong as I expected it would be and stacked up against the other B&BW lemon candles I did like this one enough to buy another one. I low key expected this to smell almost like lemonade but that might had been a bit unrealistic. While the lemon isn't as strong as I'd like it to be, it's still a really nice soft citrus scent. If you're into that or aromatherapy with citrus scents then yeah 4/5 would recommend.
It's no secret that I love scents that just scream Spring Refresh to me, especially since I'm not a huge fan of Winter to begin with and this one was a perfect balance of being in-between seasons.
Hoping to pick this one up again if they ever re-release it in the future!
Did you pick this one up?
Bath & Body Works Toasted Coconut Mocha candle released last Fall and I know, I'm just now reviewing it! It doesn't feel like it should had been a Fall scent (I guess it was the Coconut part that confused me).
The scent notes include:Steamed Milk Latte, Toasted Coconut Shavings, Mini Marshmallows
The scent notes include:
Steamed Milk Latte, Toasted Coconut Shavings, Mini MarshmallowsOn cold sniff this does smell like a balanced fragrance of mocha and coconut. It's like the most welcoming morning coffee scent. It sort of reminds me of the Coconut Mocha Frapp they use to have at Starbucks every summer (whatever happened to that? It was my favorite drink ever)!
When lit it smells a bit more like mocha but also almost like chocolate. The coconut scent gets completely lost! I know the scent's to these candles tends to change the more you blow them out and the farther they burn, so I'm holding out hope that the coconut comes out at some point!
All in all, I keep this lit in my kitchen and it just gives me all these warm and fuzzy vibes when I walk in! Wish they had made this into a plug in! It makes the perfect kitchen scent, especially if you're a coffee addict like I am.
The scent throw is also really strong for this scent; from the kitchen it hits the living room and I smell it every time I step out of the office and head to the kitchen. I find that a lot of B&BW Mocha type candles have strong scent throws.
Are you into into coffee scents?

If you're like me and you missed out on The Sweet Shop Bubblegum candle then you were probably excited to hear that they came back out with it for Easter but only as a mini candle called "Some Bunny Loves You".
The scent notes are;
Pink Sugarcane, Juicy Watermelon, Hint of Vanilla
Which ironically fused together do make a prettyyyy strong bubblegum scent! Crazy, right?!
Oh, well, I thought so lol.
I have the bigger version as you've seen in my previous blog post but I don't want to burn it cause it's the only one I have though I'm SO CURIOUS to know if the bigger one has a better scent throw.
SPEAKING OF.
The scent throw sadly for this small one is pretty... non existent. Which is really sad! On cold sniff it's SO strong. Like I think if I just left it open it might have thrown it better lol! When lit this doesn't smell like anything. I don't know if it's just the first burn that's like that, but I haven't burned it again.
I personally feel like ever since Bath & Body Works stopped working with Slatkin & Co the candles, especially the mini candles don't have a very strong scent throw anymore. This is also true for some of their other 3-wick candles.
I do love the scent of this --- I've been super attracted to Bubblegum and Cotton Candy scents for awhile now, I'm not sure what the reasoning behind this is besides that it seems like a happy scent and everyone could use a bit of happy through their days!
Have you purchased this mini? Were you able to get your hands on a Bubblegum candle?

When this candle came out everyone was so excited! I mean the scent notes for this line sounded so good and the labels were ultra cute with their frosted jars and just CAN YOU FEEL THE ZEN AND GOOD VIBES?
Everyone in particular took a liking to this candle the Soft candle which is described as Pink Petal Tea Cake.
The scent notes include: Rose Petals, Fluffy Cake and Orange Essential Oil

Someone on Instagram described this scent as if you mixed ScentSationals Pink Velvet and Violet Sugar wax melts from Walmart together. I've never sniffed Violet Sugar so personally I wouldn't know; but Pink Velvet has been one of my favorite ScentSantionsals wax melts since 2015.

Personally I think this candle is a softer sweeter version of this candle from Kohls that came out last year. I unfortunately only have this small candle and a wax melt of it but Soft from Bath & Body Works definitely reminds me of this scent, just a little more softer and with a lighter scent throw.
Unfortunately Soft and the rest of the candles from that line gained some attention due to the fact that the label was ripped off of another company --- one I hadn't heard of before and from what I had seen people were linking it to a product on Amazon. I have since lost the post that actually went into detail about the situation. There was a candle in the collection called Nook that half the jars didn't even have a label to, it was just a blank black jar (which the store I had found my Soft at had those label-less jars of Nook).
This isn't the only label B&BW has ripped off in 2017 either, there were at least 2 or 3 more collections where they had.
Now I don't know the source behind all of this or if B&BW actually had permission from the original artists and I'm not sure if anyone else knows for sure what was going on either.
But I'm a little saddened that these candles didn't get the shelf space they deserved as they were really hard to find and people who did have access to them would post on Instagram how they'd buy up to TEN BACK UPS or they'd buy the whole store out making them even HARDER to find (which is really unfair to the rest of us) and they were really pretty candles!
Overall I do like the scent to this, though the scent throw is a bit more on the fluffy sweet side when the candle isn't burned and you leave the lid on you can still definitely smell the candle and it's STRONG. I'm not going to go crazy and burn through the only one I have until maybe I am able to get my hands on a back up but since I'm not there's still plenty of dupes and alternatives to try out --- I'm definitely going to keep my eye out for the ScentSationals Violet Sugar to mix with Pink Velvet and see how close that is to this scent!
I'll keep you all update on how that goes!
The Glade fragrances I fell in love with last year came out in spray bottle formats and I'm wondering why I have more of the pink (my favorite scent) and green scents and none of the coconut ones... I don't remember if I hated it or if I ever talked/blogged about it and that kind of bothers me.
I didn't review it, even if it was just for myself.
So I decided to review more of things I use/love/hate this year to look back on later.
Review | Strawberry Lemonade Mainstays & Lemon Cupcake American Home candle
Monday, January 23, 2017
I love Mainstays wax melts but I have never tried their candles. I mean, how different could a candle be from a wax melt, amiright? Clearly, very different.
I haven't tried anything from the brand American Home though I do own a wax melt that is similar to one of my favorite Yankee Candle scents and since they're owned by the same company, I thought I'd give it a shot (though I haven't yet). So I also picked up one of their candles.
These were pretty affordable and you can find both brands at Wal-Mart.
The American Home Lemon Cupcake burned like a Yankee Candle candle, it cooled into that plastic bubble wax looking consistency that always freaks me out. This particular scent had absolutely no scent throw which was sad because on cold sniff it seemed pretty strong. Though I find in my experience most of the smaller Yankee Candle's don't have a huge scent throw, it's the bigger ones that do and I wonder if this is the same case with this as well. Ah well, guess I'll have to buy a bigger Lemon Cupcake to find out (any excuse to buy a candle, right)!
Like I mentioned before, I love Mainstays wax melts and I use them all the time. They give off such a strong scent throw and the last for a good amount of time. Though I'll be honest, I didn't have high hopes for the candle but still this seemed like a fun spring scent so I gave it a shot. On cold sniff it was heavenly and made my mouth water thinking about getting Strawberry Lemonade myself! But again the scent throw wasn't really there. The candle itself burns evenly and very very smoothly. I loved the way it looked when it was all melted down and the flame would just flicker inside the jar. It was definitely a nice relaxing sight in the corner of my eye! I would definitely purchase these again just for the Hygge aspect of it but not so much for the scent aspect. I couldn't find this scent in a wax melt but I hope they make one for it soon! It's a lovely scent on cold sniff.
Have you tried either of these brands before?
