Small Business; Pixie Pinay Co

It’s crazy to think we’re almost at the end of the year. Or that the last time I blogged was in June. Things have been crazy the last few months — but in a really good way!

Over the years I’ve attempted many shop and business ideas; some that I still miss and hope to incorporate into the business I decided to start this year.

And over the years this blog has seen me change and grow and deal with some pretty hard and tough things. And I really hope to continue to document my journey for a long time here.

In 2015 I wanted to start a candle Etsy business. I had set up all the social media for it but I was in a place where the person I was around didn’t exactly encourage my dream of opening a shop — stating that it would be “a waste of money” (wish I could tell him how successful my current shop is now). So I tucked that dream away until pretty much April of 2021.

What started as a goal to learn how to draw with a desire to illustrate and a longing for Disney turned into this.

After 3 name (and domain) changes, I launched Pixie Pinay Co. I make stickers, tees, keychains and hopefully soon pins based on mental health, Filipino culture, gaming, Disney and all things cozy.

I’m having an amazing time coming up with new products, testing different sticker paper as well as different types of tee material. Being on the creating side of products and not just on the marketing side has been an interesting ride so far and I can’t wait to see where I’ll be in a year from now!

My sweet toddler has also been my business buddy who tells me I’m doing good and that my drawings are pretty. She also likes to help prep the stickers to be cut on the Cricut.

But being both a mom and building a small business full time leaves even less time for sleep. What I wasn’t expecting was the amount of sales I got after I launched.

I’ve been filling orders every day, I’m so overwhelmed with fuzzy feelings. And I’m thankful that people like my simple art. As someone who never thought drawing was something they would ever achieve, it makes me so so happy.

And after a very long time, I finally found something I look forward to creating every day as well as a new goal to achieve.

I've also opened a Ko-Fi sticker subscription thing. It's cool they added this feature to Ko-Fi. I love how easy Ko-Fi is as is. I'm still trying to think of rewards per tier and debating if I want to also open up a Patreon as well or not.

I have a shop blog, but I haven't been that great at remembering to update. I really want to try to make a better habit of it and talk about my journey and share my resources! In the meantime, if you'd like to follow along on my journey I post on IG as well as Twitter.

See you there!

Normal candle talk coming soon, it is after all finally Caramel Apple Szn!
