I thankfully got to celebrate my birthday like I usually do this year -- at Disney World. It's been a tradition to celebrate my birthday at Disneyland since I was 22. Then on my 25th birthday I started celebrating it at Disney World. I missed it the last 2 years because of... reasons. But now that that reason isn't around anymore, I'm free to celebrating my birthday the way I want.
It felt so good to go home after 2 years of being away. I miss my life in Florida all the time. I miss the weather. I miss my friends. I miss the ability to go to Disney when I want. I miss the little lizards you have to dodge in the Spring when their eggs hatch. I miss the weird Florida wildlife that always confused and surprised me. My life was always busy and exciting when I was in Florida. And it's just the one place I'm ever really truly happy.
Being there with both my girls? Even better. I had the best time. Tums is tall enough to ride things and she sure did spend a lot of the time riding everything she could with her dad. Then taking me on the rides and saying "it's okay mama, don't be scared, I'm here. Here, hold my hand if you get scared." she is literally the best little person in my life.
We were on Test Track (the first time I ever got on it, finally) and during the speed test Tums screams out "OH FUCK" then she screams out "mama don't tell daddy I said thattttt" lol.
Winnie's first flight went amazingly well. She slept the majority of the flight and was so calm. Tums however, would not let anyone sleep. I was getting so mad. Especially since we had to get up at 3 and ended up still missing out flight. Lesson learned, NO MORE 6am FLIGHTS lmao. I'm not going to go into how many times we've delayed ourselves.
Usually if it's just me and Bubba we hit the parks as soon as we get there but since we had the girls, we took day 1 as Disney Springs day. I made a reservation at T-Rex cause I knew Tums would love it. It's the same idea as The Rainforest Cafe but with Dino's. She absolutely loved it and thought the Meteor Shower was so cool. I'm glad. I was a little worried she'd get scared. But she loved pointing out all the baby Dino's with their mama's. We got seated in the Ice Cave. I've only eaten in this area one other time but it's probably my favorite.
If I don't take a pic of the Disney Springs lake, am I really at Disney Springs?! This sight is much more gorg at night. It felt so fuckin good to be home. To stand on this bridge and to see the things that make my soul feel so much lighter and clear. And to run around Disney Springs is always a good time. I miss it so much already.
The next day we had a reservation at Ohana for breakfast; Tums has been into Stitch lately and I thought it would be the perfect chance for her to meet him. There are several other places you can, but I figured this would be the best way. She snatched all the Mickey waffles first of all. And didn't want to take pics with anyone but Pluto lol. I had Winnie dressed as Lilo and Stitch was playing peek a boo with her. It was the cutest thing ever.
As far as the meal, because Winnie is allergic to eggs we had to mention vegan options. They were so amazing with bringing her her own breakfast all you can eat plate with vegan options. They made the whole thing so easy and hassle free. I plan to write about this on my Disney food blog I'm launching later this month.
We also might had ate all of the vegan version of breakfast. The vegan eggs were mf amazing. I loved them. We might had also fought over the vegan cinnamon doughnut they gave her instead of the pineapple coconut bread they usually start you off with.
Pro tip Winns: If you say "nah I'm good" please believe the rest of us will not hesitate to take it off your hands. SO BE SURE YOU'RE GOOD before you say you are lol.
When I first brought up coming to see Bubba when we met two years ago he told me to wait it out a year... after I graduated college. But me being the impatient me I am, I didn't like his answer. I decided to plan a trip to Dallas, TX by myself and if he came to hang out with me he did. If he didn't then he just didn't. That choice was up to him.
Our beginning as Hazel & Bubba wasn't as smooth as it was for Penny & Axelyn if that makes any sense.
I always felt like he cared about me at arms length. Like there was something just holding him back and it confused me and made me a bit annoyed for months.
I ended up booking my flight and a hotel in Texas and told him about it. He had agreed to pick me up but if he had changed his mind I wouldn't had been mad at him if he did.

I wish I had taken more photos during this time of year all the years I lived in Florida/Disney World but to be honest I only got to go to the parks once the whole time I lived there and I didn't even get to walk around or really do anything so yeah, that sucked. But I did manage to snap this photo of hearts on the castle, this was back in 2013 by the way.

There was also a time when Candy Cauldron did customized apples, white chocolate with sprinkles were my fav. Last time I went there last April they said they didn't do custom apples anymore. It was a sad sad day.
I don't know what it is about seasonal sprinkles but they seriously make the treat that much more festive and enjoyable!

Overall Valentine's Day, Easter, Halloween and Fourth of July treats at Disney are probably my favorite time to see Goofy's Candy Co at Disney Springs just bursting with colors and different treats of all kinds. I do love how around Valentine's Day the Minnie apples and cake pop's come out!

The ones to the right were literally a pain to get a photo of because of the damn glare. But you can see the cutie cake pops next to the apples and I think those are better, personally.
I wish I could remember if we had Valentine's Day themed treats when I worked at Candy Cauldron in 2011, but I honestly don't remember at all. Working at a Disney candy shop though is a special kind of magic and if I'm being honest, my favorite kind of magic besides working in The Tree of Life and in Fantasyland.

I'm also slightly obsessed with Minnie and kind of always have been --- at least since I first worked at Disney in 2011. I love that she wears an oversized bow. I don't know what it is about that but I just love it! And plus she's always decked out in pink and the world girly describes her.
Sadly I didn't get one of these apples the day I snapped this photo and I didn't get to go back as often as I'd like to so I never got to grab one. I was a little hesitant to be honest, as much as I loved my apple sliced I didn't want to mess up the prettyness of this apple and it's not like I could be like, "hey can I take a couple hundred photos of this outside THEN can you slice it?!" okay they WOULD slice it if I had asked and if I had done that, I know I did it for other people. The request really is not that crazy.
Huh, I don't know why I didn't get one!
But next time I'm in the parks around this time of year I'll MAKE SURE to grab one!

And just in case you needed proof --- here's a photo of when I use to prop my hair up so I could pin a bow to it like Minnie does, I don't know how I got my bangs to part so nicely that day or how the heck the Pixie Dust looks like highlights but I freakin love this photo!
I'm also one of those people who stop by Sir Mickey's at Magic Kingdom or the Bibbity Boppity in World of Disney to get covered in Pixie Dust. It's my happiness, what can I say? My first Disney College Program apartment literally had glitter everywhere. It was awesome.
Have you been to the Disney parks around this time of year? What's your favorite thing to do or your favorite treat?
Looking back on my goals for March, I can say I didn't really complete most of them. The month seemed to had just zipped passed me. I wonder if this is just a thing that happens when you older or nah.
G O A L S R E C A P
--- I did find an apartment luckily on the first day I started looking!
--- I didn't post more videos, I only posted one video in March and it was a video I filmed in January so yeah, though I did post something it wasn't exactly what the goal was.
--- I managed to drink a little more water but that habit ended up falling away, like it normally does. I really need to make this a priority.
--- I managed to post on Instagram a number of times a day but I ended up taking random 3-4 day breaks too, I just needed to step away from the obsession of it also.
--- I didn't meditate.
--- I didn't read. Like, at all.
--- I didn't cancel enough subscription boxes.
--- I paid more attention to Penny \o/
--- I tried to blog more.
--- I still don't know how to incorporate more me in my social media.
--- I should had defined "prep for Easter" a little more...
The big thing was finding an apartment --- which I did. So thank freakin goodness for that! Like I mentioned in my Hello April post, this is the time of year where it goes by quickly and before I know it I'll be sitting in front of moving day so let's hope that I get most of what I set to accomplish this month done. Though I'll admit; a lot of the times I'm unable to complete certain tasks because of my OCD/anxiety so that really makes things difficult. I'm planning on making a few changes through this month that inner me isn't going to like but outer me knows needs to be done. Maybe I'll make a different blog post for that later.
Scrolling through Instagram foodie's feeds can really make you hungry (I have one too @herloveforfood, I need to revive that blog) and can help you stumble on some really cool places.
The idea of liquid nitrogen ice cream making in front of your face has been on floating around and typically I see places like this in LA or Vegas... somewhere along the West Coast so I was surprised to find this (along with other LA like eats) in Texas!
At Sub Zero Ice Cream (can we just take a moment to appreciate the name) you start by picking a base, then a flavor and any additional toppings you want in it. I wish I had taken a pic of the menu because there were a lot of options to choose from!
I went with a non dairy base. Strawberry flavored. Mixed in with Marshmallows, Sprinkles and Gummie Bears.
They also had premade flavors they made up themselves you can choose from or you can make your own. The boyfriend got some kind of Tropical one with Gummie Bears mixed in.
Then the magic happens!
The whole process took less time than I thought so I wasn't really able to catch too many pics. But next time I'll be ready!
I also got a Strawberry on top :)
I wasn't able to catch a pic of my boyfriend's cause he pretty much ate half of his by the time I was done taking pictures of mine. I couldn't help it, mine just looked so... pretty!
The texture was somewhere between frozen yogurt and custard. The Marshmallows were frozen and so so good. I love frozen mallows!
I'm definitely coming back here again and trying something out of my comfort zone next time!
It's hard to believe this may be my last trip to Dallas/Fort Worth because the next time I'm in the state I'll be a resident there \o/ I'm happy I was able to get the things I needed to get done in the short amount of time I had this this last time so whew on that. So relieved! And so excited! I'm sad to be leaving Florida; it's been my home for the last 5 years and it's the first place I made a place my home on my own. I've had so many good memories and good times and just usual's here but like I did with Cali as well, all things must come to an end. It's not like I'll never be back, I'll only be a 2 hour flight away! Plus I can't deny that I'm super stoked to start a new adventure... somewhere that's more foodie/Asian food friendly at that!
This is so out of order lol! But the first day I was there; the flight went great. I slept through most of it thankfully. Bubba took me to get Ihop after he picked me up (it wasn't awkward at all seeing each other again, I went straight into constantly hugging him and poking him) and we had breakfast. Then we stopped by a Target to find the TsumTsum Pastel Parade's which weren't at that one we were at but we ended up picking up various other things instead lol! We're such kids it's kind of ridiculous. Also introduced him to my Strawberry Refresher drink that he liked, yay! Went into PetSmart to find Sophie a house and we found some fuzzy ones that we might be able to pull the bottom pillow out of and replace with a scratching pad since she prefers/massively uses those. I'll have to see if I can find a circle one or something. But at least we found something! It might not be seasonally like the box house she had before but it's okay!
