It's really no secret I'm a sucker for Bath & Body Works lemon scented candles so of course I had to pick up Sugared Lemonade just to see how it would stack up against other lemon scents.
Fresh Lemon Juice, Sugar Crystals and Crushed Ice.
Not sure what Crushed Ice is suppose to smell like. But nah didn't detect that one in this candle. The lemon wasn't as strong as I expected it would be and stacked up against the other B&BW lemon candles I did like this one enough to buy another one. I low key expected this to smell almost like lemonade but that might had been a bit unrealistic. While the lemon isn't as strong as I'd like it to be, it's still a really nice soft citrus scent. If you're into that or aromatherapy with citrus scents then yeah 4/5 would recommend.
It's no secret that I love scents that just scream Spring Refresh to me, especially since I'm not a huge fan of Winter to begin with and this one was a perfect balance of being in-between seasons.
Hoping to pick this one up again if they ever re-release it in the future!
Did you pick this one up?
Bath & Body Works Toasted Coconut Mocha candle released last Fall and I know, I'm just now reviewing it! It doesn't feel like it should had been a Fall scent (I guess it was the Coconut part that confused me).
The scent notes include:Steamed Milk Latte, Toasted Coconut Shavings, Mini Marshmallows
The scent notes include:
Steamed Milk Latte, Toasted Coconut Shavings, Mini MarshmallowsOn cold sniff this does smell like a balanced fragrance of mocha and coconut. It's like the most welcoming morning coffee scent. It sort of reminds me of the Coconut Mocha Frapp they use to have at Starbucks every summer (whatever happened to that? It was my favorite drink ever)!
When lit it smells a bit more like mocha but also almost like chocolate. The coconut scent gets completely lost! I know the scent's to these candles tends to change the more you blow them out and the farther they burn, so I'm holding out hope that the coconut comes out at some point!
All in all, I keep this lit in my kitchen and it just gives me all these warm and fuzzy vibes when I walk in! Wish they had made this into a plug in! It makes the perfect kitchen scent, especially if you're a coffee addict like I am.
The scent throw is also really strong for this scent; from the kitchen it hits the living room and I smell it every time I step out of the office and head to the kitchen. I find that a lot of B&BW Mocha type candles have strong scent throws.
Are you into into coffee scents?
Normally I'd be SUPER excited for Spring and Valentine's Day; the splashes of pinks and reds everywhere, the fresh Spring air smell (that you get to enjoy in the 3 second gap between getting out of your car and putting on your mask), the feeling of waking up almost.
Except here in Texas, which I've dubbed hell.
Cause it's frozen over.
As I write this it's 7* outside. It's been in the single digits all day. And there's so much snow on my balcony I can literally build a snowman. We were on a severe winter weather warning from Feb 12th to the 15th. But now they're extending it until Thursday. That's damn near the whole week.
AND I LIVE IN TEXAS.
So there's no joy or refresh feelings here just yet. And it kinda sorta sucks.
Still, I wasn't going to not do anything I could to add a splash of pinks and reds (as if I don't already have enough)!
Did a small Bath & Body Works haul last month (did you know PayPal started a payment plan program? Lort. My bank account); I finally managed to snag a Valentine's Day candle that doesn't smell like roses. I want to say I've had the Bee Positive hand soap scent once and didn't like it enough. And the Be You scent is so soft. So soft it's almost like it isn't even there.
When was the last time I did an empties post?!
I've obviously been using products but I haven't really burned many candles down the last few months, I fell out of lighting candles which is so strange since it's kinda my thing. The bedroom light had randomly blown out though and so I started using this wax melt light up thing Bubba got me for Valentine's Day 2 years ago; picking a wax melt for the night for Tums and I has been something I've actually been looking forward to.
I'm ready to say goodbye to Summer, and hello to Fall and all it's foliage and beautiful shades of colors! Granted TX doesn't start to cool down until maybe mid Nov and even then it's like Summer dry heat one day and ridic cold 12 hours later. I honestly HATE Winter is TX, I have anemia and it physically hurts for me. I dream of the hot Winters in Florida I miss so much!
Here are my empties for the last bit of Summer!
I'm big on self care. It's something that's super important to me and something I try to make time for. Any way that I can get myself to relax and do something I enjoy through out the day even if for just 5 minutes helps me stay stable.
There are a few products I try to make sure to use daily or weekly and they're things I look forward to using!
Self care is a nonstop activity that I feel like should be pretty high on a priority list, though I know for most people they either don't know where to start or don't know how to make time for it.
I always heard stories about first time moms who never get time to themselves and can't even find time to shower and told myself I wasn't going to be like that. Yes I watch my child all day long but luckily I have a husband who watches her on the back end of the day so I can have a few hours to myself. I get not everyone is that lucky and I get even if you don't have a kid life can totally get in the way.
Over the years I've tried incorporating little things into my day here and there and finding what works for me; and my habits seemed to have changed almost seasonally, but here are some things I try to stick to!
I know, social distancing and all that. But I ventured into one of the only stores I’ve gone into since Covid and they take super serious precautions with social distancing. But this might be my one and only SAS haul for Spring 2020. There wasn’t much I was interested in and online even didn’t have a big selection this time around.
One thing I was excited about was the Aromatherapy I picked up, kinda wish I had picked up two! And also the lemon lip balm. Years ago they had a black cherry one I was in love with but for some reason it’s been discontinued.
A fall candle is a fall candle, but for some reason I’m not digging this annual scent. It’s heavy on the cinnamon/spice scent rather than the crisp air type. So definitely going to exchange that. SPC however, I’m not. I don’t remember if I finished my last one or not but never hurts to have more than one!
I’m excited the 2020 fall stuff is starting to hit stores, I’m starting fall this year later than I usually do. But as soon as we hit the end of July I’ll be going into full on fall mode!
Until then, I'm holding on to summer a little longer. At least this year I am! I've got a few more B&BW hauls I've done before this one. Not sure if I should post those or if I should just do reviews on the products from those hauls.
Did you do a semi annual sale haul this season? Did you come across anything good?
I honestly don't know why I don't update this blog as often anymore considering I still update the IG as frequently as I can.
March has been a challenge for all of us. With the quarantine's, the lock down's, the businesses closing and the entire media trying to scare the shit out of us into staying home -- which I'm not saying we shouldn't stay home, I definitely think we should -- but I'm just tired of all the scary negative news every time I open a browser or an app. It doesn't help my mom continuesly talks about the Corona every chance she gets. Every single day. No matter what else we're talking about.
So March has been a lot of staying home; which honestly, as a SAHM I already stay home every single day but Saturday on a regular basis. So. Basically it's been a non adventure on Saturday month.
Some cool things DID happen though! This stay at home thing has made me epically fail at my financial health goal -- but it's okay! Cause those trips are cancelled anyway! I still have time to re-save up that money lmao. I hate myself, why am I like dis lmao.

If you're like me and you missed out on The Sweet Shop Bubblegum candle then you were probably excited to hear that they came back out with it for Easter but only as a mini candle called "Some Bunny Loves You".
The scent notes are;
Pink Sugarcane, Juicy Watermelon, Hint of Vanilla
Which ironically fused together do make a prettyyyy strong bubblegum scent! Crazy, right?!
Oh, well, I thought so lol.
I have the bigger version as you've seen in my previous blog post but I don't want to burn it cause it's the only one I have though I'm SO CURIOUS to know if the bigger one has a better scent throw.
SPEAKING OF.
The scent throw sadly for this small one is pretty... non existent. Which is really sad! On cold sniff it's SO strong. Like I think if I just left it open it might have thrown it better lol! When lit this doesn't smell like anything. I don't know if it's just the first burn that's like that, but I haven't burned it again.
I personally feel like ever since Bath & Body Works stopped working with Slatkin & Co the candles, especially the mini candles don't have a very strong scent throw anymore. This is also true for some of their other 3-wick candles.
I do love the scent of this --- I've been super attracted to Bubblegum and Cotton Candy scents for awhile now, I'm not sure what the reasoning behind this is besides that it seems like a happy scent and everyone could use a bit of happy through their days!
Have you purchased this mini? Were you able to get your hands on a Bubblegum candle?

Spring is one of my favorite times of the year --- besides Fall.
I'm such a sucker for all the pretty shades of pink and all the pastel's and greens. And oh! Easter! Easter candy, Easter decor, Easter vibes... my birthday sometime's falls on Easter and I use to hate it cause everything is closed that day so I didn't really get to go celebrate but it hasn't landed on Easter in a really long while (though I do worry every year lol) so it's all good lol!
There are two times a year I look forward to Williams Sonoma seasonal candy and that's for Easter when they come out with these delicious sour bunnies I've grabbed every year since 2011 (pink is grapefruit, green is key lime and yellow is lemon --- tbh I only like the green ones) and Halloween when they release the sour pumpkins (which I think overall are orange flavored).

When this candle came out everyone was so excited! I mean the scent notes for this line sounded so good and the labels were ultra cute with their frosted jars and just CAN YOU FEEL THE ZEN AND GOOD VIBES?
Everyone in particular took a liking to this candle the Soft candle which is described as Pink Petal Tea Cake.
The scent notes include: Rose Petals, Fluffy Cake and Orange Essential Oil

Someone on Instagram described this scent as if you mixed ScentSationals Pink Velvet and Violet Sugar wax melts from Walmart together. I've never sniffed Violet Sugar so personally I wouldn't know; but Pink Velvet has been one of my favorite ScentSantionsals wax melts since 2015.

Personally I think this candle is a softer sweeter version of this candle from Kohls that came out last year. I unfortunately only have this small candle and a wax melt of it but Soft from Bath & Body Works definitely reminds me of this scent, just a little more softer and with a lighter scent throw.
Unfortunately Soft and the rest of the candles from that line gained some attention due to the fact that the label was ripped off of another company --- one I hadn't heard of before and from what I had seen people were linking it to a product on Amazon. I have since lost the post that actually went into detail about the situation. There was a candle in the collection called Nook that half the jars didn't even have a label to, it was just a blank black jar (which the store I had found my Soft at had those label-less jars of Nook).
This isn't the only label B&BW has ripped off in 2017 either, there were at least 2 or 3 more collections where they had.
Now I don't know the source behind all of this or if B&BW actually had permission from the original artists and I'm not sure if anyone else knows for sure what was going on either.
But I'm a little saddened that these candles didn't get the shelf space they deserved as they were really hard to find and people who did have access to them would post on Instagram how they'd buy up to TEN BACK UPS or they'd buy the whole store out making them even HARDER to find (which is really unfair to the rest of us) and they were really pretty candles!
Overall I do like the scent to this, though the scent throw is a bit more on the fluffy sweet side when the candle isn't burned and you leave the lid on you can still definitely smell the candle and it's STRONG. I'm not going to go crazy and burn through the only one I have until maybe I am able to get my hands on a back up but since I'm not there's still plenty of dupes and alternatives to try out --- I'm definitely going to keep my eye out for the ScentSationals Violet Sugar to mix with Pink Velvet and see how close that is to this scent!
I'll keep you all update on how that goes!
The Glade fragrances I fell in love with last year came out in spray bottle formats and I'm wondering why I have more of the pink (my favorite scent) and green scents and none of the coconut ones... I don't remember if I hated it or if I ever talked/blogged about it and that kind of bothers me.
I didn't review it, even if it was just for myself.
So I decided to review more of things I use/love/hate this year to look back on later.
I'm going to be doing a series of Monthly Recap on this blog every month to document the things I loved, the things I hated and the things I stumbled across. I love looking back at the end of the year to see the progress I've made and the things I loved and hated. I don't know, it's always been a favorite thing of mine to do!
With that said, we're going to recap my empties!
For as long as I've been a beauty/lifestyle blog/vlogger (on and off since 2008, if you're curious) I've always wanted to do this type of recap but I'm so awful at finishing products because I'm scared they'll go away forever. This year I'm trying to ween myself away from hoarding so much stuff. If it never comes back at least I documented my thoughts on it and if it does come back and it's something I loved then great!
I've also started playing with my Sony camera since my ex has yet to give me back my Canon S90... but that's for a word vomit post.
I started off with finishing the Sugared Passionfruit candle from Target's dollar spot ($3!) and I LOVED it! It gave off such a nice scent throw and it was the perfect happy fruity scent to welcome Spring! I of course bought a back up of it.
Next is the Pineapple Meringue candle from Target. They didn't have the usual brand, just this fancier one. On cold sniff it was pretty nice but burning it didn't have a scent throw --- at all! I was so disappointed! Under that is the Limoncello Poptail candle from Bath & Body Works that was from last year's collection I think... I really liked this one; it was like if you were to take a lemon and a lime starburst and make it into a candle! The Sugared Lemon Zest from this Spring's collection is a pretty close dupe for it so I'm certain this type of scent isn't really going anywhere. Above it is the Strawberry Shortcake candle I got from Anthro years ago. I've never burned it because it was so pretty and expensive but I thought --- why not. They still carry it so. It was okay, I wasn't crazy about it. It had a hint of a fakeness to the scent but I am going to take that jar and the Pineapple Meringue jars and use them as storage in my kitchen!
Next we have the Strawberry Lemonade Mainstays candle from Wal-Mart.Which I've already written a review on here.
Next is the Twisted Peppermint hand soap with Olive Oil that I loved! Twisted Peppermint is my favorite holiday/winter/December scent. I get it every single year! This Olive Oil formula was pretty nice on my hands, especially since they dry out a lot in the winter.
Next to that is the Garnier Whole Blends shampoo in Green Apple & Green Tea. In middle and high school my shampoo was ALWAYS green apple scented. Nowadays it's hard to find one that is! So when I stumbled on this at Publix I HAD to grab it and I'm glad I did! I absolutely love this scent! So much that I got the whole trio set!
Next is the Twisted Peppermint Body Wash. I don't know what it is about the Twisted Peppermint body wash and the hand and body lotion but I swear the "mint" in it makes your skin tingle. Maybe it's just me, who knows. Either way I love the feeling and the scent!
I forgot to add this guy to the snap...
I had high hopes for this candle that were not filled. I mean I guess it's a good candle if you're looking for ambiance which sometimes I forget that candles are used for that too and not just good-smelling-things for your room and home. Still, I'm glad I tried it and this scent in the oil is amazing (they're pictured together in case I forgot what scent it was --- didn't realize there's a sticker on the front of the jar that tells you... doh).
Products that are missing: Bath & Body Works foam bath in Eucalyptus Spearmint and Bath & Body Works foam bath in Tangerine Spearmint --- both of which are my favorite Bath & Body Works (and really overall) bubble baths. I go through so many of these! I haven't gotten a back up just yet. I know that the Tangerine Spearmint is one that only comes out every semi annual sale though so that sucks but it does come back... at some point.
Unfortunately I didn't finish up anything that was beauty related! I need to get back into the habit of wearing makeup more regularly again. It's not that I don't want to, cause I do... I'm just lazy. And I don't go out much...though that should be enough of a reason TO wear makeup more!
I'm not sure I want to lift my candle buying ban JUST YET, even though I did burn through 5 candles like I said I would.... I just need to get through more products. Plus there's no rush to buy more anyway, the season just started!
I think I did pretty well in January! What are some products that you finished up in the last month?
